Stress, Rain, and Springsteen

Hey everyone. This is my first post on this blog and i'm a bit intimidated. My previous illustration blog had drifted away from artwork and into the lame world of emotions. But this time will be different!

I'm a bit too busy right now (what with finals and all) to offer detailed descriptions of my process, but I figured it's now or neva.

This is the first in a series of quick illustrations I'm doing for an Interactive Media project. Basically, the underlying assignment was to get public interaction via the internet. I created a website that acts as a funnel to get people to fill out a quick submission form that then forwards to my e-mail. The premise is this: People tell me what they want me to draw and I draw it for them and post it on the site when I'm done. They get credit for their clever ideas and I get some drawings and new acquaintances out of it. Pretty great, right? well, so far I've received 25 submissions and counting. I've only drawn and colored one idea so far (below), but I've got some things in mind for other suggestions.

This drawing is from a submission by Kat S. of Baltimore, MD. She wrote "I want you to draw... many multi-colored creatures dancing around a golden statue of a giant fish whose scales are glitterful and pretty. There are big fluffy clouds in the sky and they look like yummy candies!!"
